Paddle-boarding and Kayak Sessions

Welcome to Q Lake, the perfect spot for paddle-boarding and kayaking adventures from April through to October. Whether you’re trying out new kit, practising your skills, getting your confidence back after a Winter spent on dry land or introducing the next generation to paddle sports, we offer a relaxed environment, free from unpredictable currents or obstructions, where the excellent water quality is tested regularly. So what are you waiting for?

How It Works

  • Book a 2-hour slot online and bring your board or kayak—you’re all set for a great time on the water.

  • Remember to book a ticket for each board, plus additional lakeside passes for anyone joining you who won’t be on a board.

  • Parking: Please use the main car park and carry your board to the lake. A trolley may help transport your gear easily. Bring a handpump if you wish to inflate next to the lake.

  • Facilities: We have toilets including an accessible toilet close to Q lake. There are also outdoor showers for swimmers. Please note the indoor showers are for campers only.

Opening Times

  • SUP & Kayak slots are available from 10am daily.

  • Check in with a team member before taking your board on the lake.

  • Please only use your boards/kayaks during your allocated slot; outside these hours, the lake is reserved exclusively for swimmers. Numbers are capped to ensure a relaxing experience without too much congestion.

Rules & Safety

  • SUPs and kayaks are only allowed in one half of the lake—please follow the signage.

  • Under-18s must wear personal flotation devices (PFDs); we strongly recommend them for adults too.

  • Until children's tickets are available (when the water is consistently above 12 degrees), the lakes are adults only.

  • Always use designated jetties and ramps to enter and exit the water. Kneel when leaving or arriving at a jetty.

  • No swimming alongside boards. Multiple people may take it in turns using a board or use it together, but anyone not on the board must stay on the bank (unless you are a parent supervising a nearby child).

  • Children must be supervised, either in the water or from the bankside.

Additional Info

  • We do not currently offer boards for hire. If you’d like to try paddle-boarding but don’t have your own kit, speak to Andy, our SUP coach—all equipment is provided during his lessons: info@h2omudandsnow.co.uk

  • Your SUP ticket is also valid for swimming for the rest of the day.
